Is Student Services @ White Creek located in the new White Creek Apartments?

Student Services @ White Creek is a separate building complex of modular buildings. View the Maps page for details.

How do I get to Student Services @ White Creek?

If taking the bus, Route 03 travels from the east side of main campus to the SSWC on the west side of main campus.

If traveling by car, parking is available in proximity to the facility. View the Parking & Transit page for more details.

How do I know where to go for the services that I need?

Review the Homepage Relocation Timeline to learn when and where student services in Cain Hall will be relocating. Once you know when/where your desired service is moving, use the Maps page to help you locate the corresponding facility.

How do I contact the departments, offices and staff relocating from Cain Hall?

Contact information for departments will remain the same after relocation.

Once I get to Student Services @ White Creek, how do I find my way?

Way finding signage in the form of large freestanding maps will be located throughout Student Services @ White Creek. Additionally, each building will be visibly named and display clearly marked entrances.

DISABILITY SERVICES

When does the Disability Services (DS) Testing Administration Center move to White Creek?



DS will continue administering exams and collecting exam schedule forms in Cain Hall B116 through Wednesday, October 28th.
Any student with an exam scheduled on or after Thursday, October 29th, should check in at the new Disability Services building (#0062) at White Creek. The Testing Administration Center will be located in the back section of the building. All students should enter through the front entrance of the building to gain access the testing area.

  • Students: Please check TrackerOnline  to confirm your exam schedule. Don’t forget that you are also able to scan and email any signed exam forms to testadmin@tamu.edu in lieu of hand-delivering them to the Testing Administration Center.
  • Instructors: As always you can fax (979-458-1214) or email exams to testadmin@tamu.edu in lieu of hand delivering them to the Testing Administration Center. DS exam couriers will continue to pick-up and deliver exams as the currently do.

Where do I report if I have an appointment with an Access Coordinator or other staff member?

Most of the main office staff will remain in Cain Hall through Tuesday, October 27th. On the designated main office move date — Wednesday, October 28th — limited appointments and resources will be available in Cain Hall or White Creek.

On or after Wednesday, October 28th, all students with individual appointments should report to the new Disability Services building (#0062) at White Creek. The reception area will be located immediately inside the front entrance to the building, Disability Services (Building #0062). You may call 979-845-1637 in advance to confirm your appointment, if needed.

NOTE: The Testing Administration Center and staff will continue working and administering exams through Wednesday, October 28th in Cain Hall.

What will the new Testing Administration Center rooms be like?

Disability Services is moving into a modular building. The testing center will be located in the back half of the building and will be using 14 offices. Instead of cubicles, most students will be testing in small offices at tables with about 3 or 4 students in each room.

Four (4) of the 14 offices have been split in half to make 8 smaller specialize rooms. These smaller rooms will be configured similar to the larger private rooms currently in Cain Hall B116 (Rooms A, B, G & H) that currently accommodate students with wheelchairs, equipment, computers, readers, scribes or other specialized accommodation needs.

What will happen to the Open Access Lab in Cain Hall managed by Disability Services?

The Open Access Lab computers currently in Cain Hall B109 and in specific rooms in the Disability Services Testing Administration Center will be moved out to the new Disability Services building (#0062) at White Creek. Most of the workstations will be placed in the specialized exam rooms, but a few workstations will be placed in the reception area/waiting room of the Disability Services building.

RESIDENCE LIFE

Where do I get assistance with issues related to housing applications and contracts?

The Housing Assignments Office (Department of Residence Life) handles the customer service interactions with students and their families. Issues relating to housing applications and contracts. They have moved as of 10/1 to A3 Lounge between Moses and Davis-Gary Halls on the North side of campus. Parking is available in lot 30 to visit. Most of the services are available on-line. They also have phone service. We expect no interruption in services or resources provided. The phone numbers and the on-line connections remain the same.

The Central Administration Office for the Department of Residence Life will be house in 0064 at SS@WC. The administrative leadership team will move on October 12-13. We anticipate being available by phone and on-line throughout the transition. Predominant customer/student traffic is by appointment or as part of a meeting, so each are being notified of location changes. The phone numbers and email connections will remain the same.

Where do I find the Assistant Director for Academic Initiatives?

Dr. Craig Rotter has moved to an office in Hullabaloo Hall to be nearest the Community Learning Center and Academic Initiatives staff. His office is 101E inside of the North Area Office, near the 24 hour service desk. His phone number and email will remain the same.

Is Residence Education moving?

Residence Education staff offices will remain in place. The South Area Office is temporarily housed in the Legett basement while the Commons is off-line for renovation. That occurred last May and will continue through the opening of the Southside Commons in 2017.

Will apartment offices be relocating?

University Apartments at the Gardens and at White Creek offices will remain in place. Phone numbers and online connections will not change.

Will the Business Services Office relocate?

The Department’s Business Services Office remains in place in the University Apartments Community Center. Phone numbers and online connections will not change.

STUDENT COUNSELING SERVICE

Student Counseling Service will be moving November 9th, 10th and 11th.

What services will be available during the move?

There will ONLY be crisis counseling available on the November 9th, 10th and 11th, no initial or ongoing appointments will be scheduled during those 3 days.

What if I need HelpLine?

HelpLine will not be impacted and will operate as normal. Just want to talk?… Call HelpLine at 979-845-2700

During the move, where will crisis counseling be located?

On November 9th, crisis counseling will be available at Cain Hall; on the 10th, crisis counseling will be available at Cain AND at White Creek (Student Counseling Service Reception – Building 0065).  On November 11th, all crisis services will be available at White Creek (Student Counseling Service Reception – Building 0065).

When and where will normal operations resume?

Normal SCS operations will resume at White Creek location on the 12th.
